Thank you so much to all who have supported us. We are so blessed by everyone's generosity. Not only have people given financially, but we have been amazed, time and again, by people's concern for and willingness to learn about the people of Thailand and Burma.

By simply showing up at our events, reading our website and learning about the needs of the people in Thailand and Burma, you have made a difference! Please continue to learn and care. The response has been overwhelming, to say the least.

We had one person donate eight large trash bags full of cans and bottles to our trip. One woman forwarded a Cans for Change email to her family members, and she collects their recycling for us every week. Our church announced Cans for Change to their Sunday gatherings, and different people participate by giving every week. A local theatre program has been setting a separate trash bag aside to collect water bottles after their rehearsals. Another woman told her elementary school kids about our fundraiser, and they have begun to recycle at their house.

Cans for Change has become incredibly successful, not only because we have raised over $200 (from garbage!) in just over a month, but because it has become a community effort. People are making a difference in our lives as we raise money to go to Thailand, in the lives of the people we are going to serve, and in the environment!

We are so encouraged by all who have participated in Cans for Change, and together we are making a difference!

Thank you for your partnership.

Tunes for Thailand Recap

On Saturday, March 20, the second annual Tunes for Thailand benefit concert took place to raise awareness for the situation in Thailand and Burma and also to raise funds for our trip.

The evening was highlighted by great music, as Paulie Pesh, Catterfly, and Autumn Eyes all played live.

Special thanks to Chick-fil-A at the La Habra Marketplace for graciously giving 150 chicken sandwiches and 15 gallons of sweet tea! Special thanks also to Starbucks at La Mirada and Imperial for donating coffee. We could not have done it without our sponsors!

Nearly 100 people attended the event, and we raised close to $1100 for our trip! Thank you to all who attended. Be sure to visit the bands' websites above to purchase their music as a "thank you," and take some time to visit Chick-fil-A and Starbucks and thank them for their gracious support of the people of Thailand and Burma.

The carwash fundraiser on Sunday, March 14 was a great success! The weather was perfect, and we raised more than $900 for our trip! All of the team members and several other wonderful people helped to wash over thirty cars and get the word out about the needs of the people of Thailand and Burma! People from Mosaic Whittier and many enjoying a beautiful day in uptown got their cars washed and encouraged us in our efforts.

Thank you to all who came and supported the people of Thailand and Burma by donating to our cause and to all who helped make this day possible.

Special thanks to Sunny for designing the fliers, Buddy for coordinating the event, Rachel for making signs, Christy for providing all the supplies (hoses, brushes, sponges, etc.), Lisa and Cory for handing out fliers, Rachel and Diana for making a paper towel run for us, Eydie for her servant's heart, the amazing students of Mosaic Whittier (Melody, Fabian, Liam, Landon) and our whole team for working diligently for many hours to make this event awesome! We can't do it without you!

Cans for Change Begins
