In partnership with Beyond US, an affiliate of Mosaic that believes in "unleashing our human potential to serve the world," we are passionate about serving and equipping the people of Thailand and Burma. In June 2010, our team will travel to Thailand, where we will be working with Partners Relief and Development and Asian Alliance International. During the trip we will be training adult workers in trauma care and first aid and working with children to teach basic hygiene and do play and art therapy with them.
A team of excited volunteers has come together with a diversity of expertise to spend two weeks in one of Thailand's largest cities, Chiang Mai. Our trip will last from June 23 to July 8, 2010, and the following people will use their various skills and passions to serve the people of Thailand and refugees from Burma:
Alex Gilbert - medical/hygiene specialist
Buddy Bernor - art/music therapy
Christa McKirland - logistical specialist
Jackie Moonilal - child trauma therapy
|
Matt McKirland - play therapy, treasurer
Rachel Flemming - art/music therapy
Sunny Petrich - first aid, play therapy

The needs of these children (many of whom are orphans) and workers in Thailand are great, as many of these children and their families have suffered some of the most inhumane and tragic experiences. For more information on the needs of Thailand and Burma, check out our Why Thailand/Burma? blog post and visit the above organizations' websites.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this site. By simply taking a few minutes to learn about what is happening in Thailand and Burma, you are making a difference.
